Presentation of the 3CAT platform to the Catalan audiovisual industry

Tuesday, November 14

10 am – 11.15 am

Entry is free upon registration

Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia presents the 3Cat platform to the sector for the first time as part of Talent Week.

3cat is a new platform that unifies all the radio, audiovisual and digital content of TV3 and CatRàdio. A space more in tune with new consumption habits, for the creation and sharing of a wide range of new entertainment and current affairs content. It starts with a catalogue containing over 200,000 hours of content in Catalan, with new productions exclusive to the platform, but also with a whole set of landmark productions that are part of the audiovisual heritage in Catalan: documentaries, TV series, films, current affairs and cultural pieces. A platform aimed at the regular audience, but that wants to recover a young audience that no longer has the same consumption habits as the previous generations.

Cristina Villà i Font (Director of Innovation, Research and Digital Strategy) will present the platform and will take stock of how the platform is performing. Then will take questions from the audience.

Miquel Rutllant, president of the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia, and Rosa Romà, president of 3Cat will welcome the public.

The session will be presented by Toni Cruanyes, journalist and presenter of the 3Cat Information Services.

Round table: Impact of OTTs on the audiovisual industry of the territories where they operate

Tuesday, November 14

12 pm– 1.30 pm

Entry is free upon registration

We are in the process of transforming the public media in order to continue to be a point of reference for citizens, at a time when media consumption habits are no longer what they were a decade ago. In the last five years, TV consumption has fallen by 24% and consumption of digital platforms has grown by almost 20%.

European public broadcasters are launching their OTT channels. How do they face this challenge? How will they reach new audiences? How will they keep the traditional audience?

With the participation of Jordi Ferrerons (3Cat), Alexander Gibelalde (EITB), Tom Peeters, general director of VRT (Flanders, Belgium), Jarmo Lampela, fiction director of YLE (Finland) and Philippe Keutgen from Auvio Strategy & Partnerships Advisor (Wallonia, Belgium).

Eufòria, Veranda TV and TV3’s talent show, broke audience records in its first two seasons and is now getting ready for the third.
