The new Catalan audiovisual economy
Perspectives, infrastructure and growth strategy for the next 10 years
From 9:15 am to 10:45 am
The audiovisual sector is experiencing exponential growth worldwide, a trend that is also reflected in Spain, which has created a strategy to become the main audiovisual hub in southern Europe. Catalonia has a very strong audiovisual ecosystem across all sectors within the industry, but it is necessary to provide it with modern infrastructures that guarantee that it can compete with the new audiovisual economy in the coming years. The audiovisual sector will be key and strategic in stimulating the Catalan economy, in the same way that the tourism, automotive and textile sectors were at one point.

Greenshooting: sustainability in filming
From 11:15 am to 13:00 pm
Climate change is a reality. All industries are in full transformation and the audiovisual sector cannot stay behind. Filming is the main focus of pollution: travel, generators, single-use materials… On average, three days of filming can be equivalent to twenty tons of CO2 and one hour of a TV series can generate up to seventy-seven tonnes.
The Public Administration will soon require green certificates to be able to film and to be eligible for subsidies, and the figure of the “Eco Manager” will be key in future productions.
The main international platforms are already applying it in the latest film shootings, and concepts such as shared value are already are already starting to prevail in companies seeking a purpose.
The conference will highlight the main challenges and will provide tips on how to deal with filming. In addition, we will talk to production companies that are already applying these measures successfully but facing difficulties.
