A meeting point to get to know in depth the work of various audiovisual professions at the hands of expert women who explain the day-to-day of their work in conversation with the attending public. With the collaboration of the Catalan Film Academy.
This year we focused on the work of screenwriters with Cèlia Rico, Anna Solanas and Valentina Viso in attendance.
Cèlia Rico
Screenwriter and film director with a degree in Audiovisual Communication and Literary Theory and Comparative Literature. Her short film Luisa no está en casa participated in La Biennale di Venezia in 2012. In 2018 her debut film Viatge a la cambra d’una mare premiered at the San Sebastià Film Festival, where she was awarded the Special Jury Mention (New Directors) and the Youth Award. The film was awarded Best Screenplay at the Gaudí Awards and was nominated for the Goya Awards and the Platino Awards. She has created and co-written the animated children’s series and film Mironins (Gaudí Award and nomination for the Goya Awards in 2022), and she has published the illustrated book Celia s’avorreix (Premio Boolino 2017). She has recently shot her second feature film Els petits amors, which will be released in the spring of 2024.
Anna Solanas
Screenwriter, director and sound editor. Graduated from ESCAC in 2001, she shot with Marc Riba El negre és el color dels déus as their final project, and it became the first short stop motion animation made by both of them, which marked the beginning of an over two-decade collaboration. Together they have written and directed sixteen short films. Their projects have participated in more than two thousand festivals on five continents, collecting more than a hundred awards, among which is a nomination for the Goya Awards, the Mélies de Plata for Best European Short Film and a Gaudí Award.
Valentina Viso
Graduated in Philosophy from the University of Sorbonne-Paris IV, she is a screenwriter living in Barcelona. She has co-written with film director Mar Coll her two feature films, Tres dies amb la família, Goya 2010 for Best New Director, Tots volem el millor per a ella, nominated for best screenplay at the Gaudí awards. She was co-writer of the film Blog directed by Elena Trapé and María (i els altres) directed by Nely Reguera, both selected for the San Sebastian Festival in the New Directors section. She has collaborated in the writing of the script for Estiu 1993, by Carla Simón, best debut film at the Berlin Festival 2017. She has co-written with Mar Coll and Diego Vega the series for Movistar+ Matar el pare, directed by Mar Coll, and co-wrote with Coral Cruz U per a tothom, by David Ilundain. La voluntària, Nely Reguera’s second film, co-written with the director and screenwriter Eduard Sola, premiered in the Official Section of the 25th Malaga Festival. She is a screenwriter in the series No m’agrada conduir, created and directed by Borja Cobeaga and she co-created and co-wrote with screenwriter Daniel González and Aina Clotet the series Això no és Suècia, directed by Aina Clotet and Mar Coll. With Aina Clotet she also co-wrote her debut film Oh, Nora and once again with Mar Coll, she co-wrote her next feature film project, the adaptation of the book Les mares no by Katixa Agirre. As a script analyst and script editor, she works for different production companies. She collaborates as a lecturer and tutor for various institutions and programs.
